Appreciating God’s Grace and Mercy

While times seem to go by fast and everything seems to be spinning out of control, God gives us the ability to feel fulfilled through Him and by Him alone. There are no other ways to feel fulfilled in this life that only gives us false promises, fake acquaintances, disposable currencies, or things that are never enough.

While there are many promises for personal glory and pleasures, they will never be enough. They will never help you feel good. They will never satisfy. They will never fill that space in your heart that requires something that is incomparable. The Grace and Mercy of God are two great things that will never have any substitute. That although it seems that there are better things in the world, there are none.

Good things are given by God and provided by Him alone. The grace that God gave us on the Cross is something that no other substitute can offer. Nothing can give you what the Messiah Jesus Christ, gave you on the cross. There is nothing that will lead you to greater love and fulfillment than His sacrifice for you. You can attempt to be perfect, but you do not have to be because He is perfect for you. You don’t have to attempt to be great, because He is great for you. You don’t have to be the lover of the world, because nothing it offers you will satisfy. Only Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected will be able to take away all your sins and all your anxiety and all your woes.

Find Him while you still have time to call out on His name and be saved.

Giving GOD the glory

As life continues to move full speed ahead, there are so many questions that a believer and a non-believer may have? Is there eternity? What is salvation? Is it earned? What leads us to a Godly life or an ungodly life? So many questions and answers are difficult to come by.

Scoffers will say that things are as they were always and there is no reason to believe anything will change. Non-believers will say that we are just waiting for Utopia to be reached through technological advancements to keep us immortal and ready for improved skill sets to improve our hurting world. Christians and Jewish believers will speak of their faith in GOD and the belief that whatever lies ahead has been conquered through Jesus Christ crucified and resurrected and that we are just serving the LORD in giving Him the glory.

While it may appear to be confusing and difficult to tell, the answers are all around us. It may be difficult to understand when there is a large amount of information that does not stop from being propagated. New Age beliefs, World Religions, Atheism, Gnosticism, all different ways of viewing the world can have very different beliefs. I am not here to attack the beliefs of others, but I am also not going to lie about the absolute truth that exists in the world. It is interesting to note that all the answers of life are in the Bible and much more in a life devoted to prayer, belief, following the commandments, and more importantly having the ability to confess Jesus Christ as our LORD and SAVIOR. The Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the resurrected King who was, is, and is to come.

When life wants to tell us that there are an infinity amount of answers and truths, it becomes important to distinguish truth from the lies of life. While the process is difficult and takes time, it is easy to learn what can be tested as truth and what can be disposed of as lies. Don’t forget to give GOD the glory in everything that you do as He has conquered and will continue to extend his glory over all creation regardless of how we wish to serve. C.S. Lewis stated that we all have a purpose but that it matters to us whether we wish to serve like John or to act like Judas. I hope to always serve like John and the many apostles that tried to serve Christ above all else. For those who wish to follow Judas, well… everyone knows that story too well.

Call to Repent                                                                                                             November 30th

It is in Zechariah that we see the need for Israel to repent of its wrongdoings and return to the way of GOD. Likewise, there are always times when we choose to follow in the ways of sinful Israel and continue to sin without seeking what GOD wants for us. He wants us to be happy and joyful in Him and through Him instead of following the momentary pleasures that the world can give. Our call is to keep our focus on GOD regardless of the circumstances that occur outside. Regardless of what other individuals wish to do or say, GOD is in control and has the final say in every aspect of the world. We can try to rebel, we can try to be indifferent, we can plead the atheistic creed, but all of these things do nothing to change what GOD wants for us or what GOD has decided for us.

Through tough times are we able to see the importance that GOD has in our lives. Although we falter, He is always constant making sure we are good. With perilous changing times, we must trust GOD in knowing that He is in control and that no matter what the world attempts to throw at Christians, GOD is in control. He always has been in control, is in control, and forever will be in control. That is why we must concentrate and understand the promises that he has made to us concerning the coming of difficult times. Corinthians 5:5-9 states the importance of being of good courage, “So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the LORD, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the LORD. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” Therefore, we must continue to trust GOD forever. Christ has died for our sins on the cross and has allowed us the mercy and grace that comes with being a believer of Christ. We would rather be at home in the spirit with GOD, but we need to have courage to continue moving forward. Encourage each other and help one another in these distressful times.

Your steadfast love, O LORD, extends to the heavens,

your faithfulness to the clouds.

Psalm 36:5

Thanksgiving Week

What are you grateful for this Thanksgiving week? Even when there seems to be chaos everywhere, the most important thing that matters is to focus on the good that exists. What good is that some may ask? The good that we are given another day to be thankful for everything we have experienced from the good, the bad, and those things that we hope to forget about. Everything serves a purpose when looked upon with discernment and understanding. I hope everyone is grateful for at least one thing, one idea, one individual that has allowed you to feel better about life. We should be able to thank God for everything that has allowed us to reach this point in time. As everyone is getting ready to share their food with their loved ones or going solo this year, make sure to think about the good of life and the beauty that is in store. Have faith and be thankful this Thanksgiving Day!
